Bell's mother, Valerie, began the vigil at 4:56 a.m. on New Year's Day and it will go around the clock for 50 days ending 2/19/07 – one day for each bullet pumped into the car he was in. Bell's family members and friends will also take turns standing “for peace and justice” during the coming days at the 103rd police precinct. A banner depicting the deceased, 50 illustrated bullet holes and the words “Never Again” is hung nearby.
